Use the method of Phonics while teaching children to read. The child learns to connect sounds with groups of letters. The teachers use phonics, generally in different classroom activities. For example phonics-based educational games, can be incorporated in the classes like Phonics Bingo.
Phonics Bingo
In this game teacher can make the cards containing alphabets and words, distribute them among students. And then can enquire following:-
1. The teacher can ask a student like "find the word with 'pin' in it", and in turn the students find "spin".
2. The teacher can read a word slowly, like "kkk-aaa-ttt", and can ask the students to find the relevant word.
3. The teacher speaks out a word, and students find its rhyming word
4. The teacher speaks a word like "pin" and asks them to find a word after adding an E to it.
Child’s learning ability
No child is ready to learn after you make him sit down for an hour or two. Teach him through attractive learning games and he will indulge himself in learning with interest. The development of child learning skills is direct measure of parents and teachers influence and approach.
After your child has learnt ABC…you can print them on colorful cards, scatter them and ask your child to gather them serially. Teach him words and arrange them according to its spelling. This can help him in learning spellings. Use various phonics skills to teach him new words.
